Programme structure

The mentoring programme movement programme is made up of several components:

  • Mentoring tandem
  • Peer mentoring
  • Workshop programme
  • Framework programme

These modules have proven to be equally effective for all target groups, although the content is of course tailored to the specific target group.

We put our mentees in touch with mentors of their choice. Both agree on a certain number of meetings for the duration of the programme. The content of the exchange varies depending on the mentee's questions and can relate to the mentor's career, insights into the informal rules of the academic system and the scientific community, tips on building a profile as an academic, advice on how to take the next steps, work-life balance and much more.

As part of peer mentoring, the mentees work together in small interdisciplinary groups according to the principle of peer counselling. At monthly meetings, the peer group works together to develop solution-orientated perspectives on acute and strategic questions and challenges, both in connection with current day-to-day university life and with a view to possible future orientations and developments.

A high-quality workshop programme tailored to the needs of the respective target group ensures a systematic and professionally supported discussion of important career-related topics. When selecting our workshops and trainers, we emphasise a sensible balance of information/input, joint discussion/reflection and practical elements.

Three in-process workshops at the beginning, mid-term and end of the mentoring programme, as well as several celebratory and lecture events, enable a lively exchange within the mentee group, which can thus become a trusting and supportive network.
